As the world gathered in Bonn, Germany in November 2017 for COP 23 – the United Nations’ conference on climate change – BCCIC organized a delegation of 7 young people from British Columbia to attend and participate in the international discourse. These young British Columbians are passionate about climate action and sustainable development, and aimed to connect with the global network of climate activists and decision-makers
At the conference, the team attended meetings with high profile delegates, hosted press conferences, and wrote about their observations. Upon returning home, they held capacity building events and presentations for fellow young people, and continued to write and share about their experiences and understandings.
Read the Impact Report to find out the key impacts on the youth and their wider communities, highlights from COP 23 and home organizing, as well as the delegation’s recommendations for future youth engagement in COP conferences.
