Communications Officer

Diane has lived most of her life along the bank of the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton, Alberta (which she recognizes as Treaty 6 Territory). Previous to joining the team, Diane worked at BCCIC’s sister organization ACGC as the Membership Coordinator. She also worked with the Council of Canadians as an organizer on social justice issues and was especially involved in climate change campaigning, which included being part of the Canadian Youth Delegation to COP21 in Paris. Diane is interested in how identity, power, and social systems are considered in social change work. She comes from an Art and Design background with a B.Des, and she pursued academic interdisciplinarity through her Masters in Resource and Environmental Management. In her time away from the office, Diane can be found trying new creative endeavours from pottery and dancing to baking and art making, enjoying all kinds of weather in wild places, exploring cities through walking around, and hanging out with friends and family. She is very excited to be working with the team at BCCIC and is humbled by the warm welcome of the BCCIC network.
