10 Year Anniversary Celebration of Women Transforming Cities – Film Screening
August 25 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Celebrate 10 years of WTC with an in-person film screening of Running With My Girls a documentary that explores grassroots activism.
About this event
Join Women Transforming Cities (WTC) as we celebrate our 10-year anniversary as an organization. Help us honour the community we’ve built and the impact we’ve had with an in-person movie screening. For a decade we’ve been committed to grassroots advocacy for an intersectional lens on urban issues both internationally and here in Vancouver, Canada.
The film we’ll be showing, Running With My Girls, documents the strength of the community activism we work towards every day.
“Tired of watching their communities be ignored and displaced, five women of color run for municipal office in Denver – one of the fastest gentrifying cities in the country. With only a fraction of the funds of their incumbent opponents, the women find power through their community and each other to run their grassroots campaigns.”
Help us fundraise so that we can create an even bigger impact with our work over the next ten years by purchasing a full-price ticket ($20) and considering an additional donation beyond the ticket price. If you make a donation in addition to the $20 ticket price will receive a tax receipt by the end of the financial year.
If price is a barrier, feel free to get a ticket by donation based on what you can. This event has limited capacity so we encourage folks who are in a position to pay full price for a ticket to please consider doing so.
A bag of olive oil and sea salt popcorn will be included with your ticket. There will also be a cash bar for you to purchase beverages throughout the event.
