From Commitments to Communities: Financing Locally Led Adaptation on the Road to COP31

Despite adaptation finance commitments, the gap between global commitments and resources actually reaching local governments, community organisations and grassroots actors remains wide. This session brings together donors, national governments, intermediaries and local actors to discuss what is needed to close that gap and move locally led adaptation from principle to practice.
The event will also present key findings from the Alliance’s new report, Pathways to Locally Led Adaptation: Lessons for Effective Climate Resilience Finance, drawing on experience from ten countries to offer practical recommendations for aligning community priorities, planning processes and public finance.
Speakers include:
Rebecca Redden, COP31 Access to Finance Lead, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australia
Representative from the Ministry of Planning and Development, Ethiopia (upcoming COP32 Presidency).
Ramona Calin, Locally-led climate action specialist, Green Climate Fund
Malek Romdhane, Adaptation Lead, Loss and Damage Collaboration
Sally Tyldesley, Advocacy Manager, Concern Worldwide
More speakers to be announced soon.
