Join BCCIC and the Centre for Justice, Equity, and Sustainable Action (JESA) for a conversation with Timothy Sam.
Drawing on experiences from Sierra Leonean communities and his personal and professional journey, Timothy will explore how civic education, local leadership, and citizen engagement can advance children’s rights and help build more inclusive, peaceful, and resilient societies.

Timothy Sam is a development and public-sector leader with extensive experience in civic engagement, youth participation, governance, humanitarian programming, and strategic partnerships. Before joining the Government of Sierra Leone, he served as Regional Youth Engagement Manager for West and Central Africa at Plan International, supporting youth engagement initiatives across 14 countries. He has a longstanding commitment to youth leadership and civic participation and was a founding Executive Member of Sierra Leone’s Children’s Parliament.
