Comment on BCCIC’s Draft Submission to GAC Policy Review

BCCIC has finished our draft submission and is currently accepting comments until July 21

Wednesday, May 18th, the Canadian Government launched a public international assistance policy review and consultations from the Women Deliver conference in Copenhagen.

This review and consultations are being undertaken in an effort to renew Canada’s international assistance policy and funding framework and will contribute to informing the new government’s process of refocusing Canada’s international assistance.

BCCIC’s draft submission is online and open for commenting!

Our draft submission to the GAC IAR is now online and open for public comment until 5 PM on Thursday, July 21.

BCCIC will convene members and community stakeholders for a second consultation during which we will present our draft submission and continue to collect feedback from our network to continue to building BCCIC’s submission to the current Global Affairs Canada international assistance policy review.

All Canadians and partners have been invited to participate in this review which will run between May 18th and July 31st 2016.

What else can British Columbians do?

BCCIC strongly encourages all members and stakeholders in our network to participate in this process and submit during this consultation period independently. (See ‘How to Participate’ below).

BCCIC will also be holding a consultation among our membership and community stakeholders in preparation to submit a collective document. The tentative date being targeted for June 15.

BCCIC will have the opportunity to interface with Global Affairs Canada in the coming weeks in this regard and we look forward to convening the membership and keeping everyone updated as we move into this process.
