Phillip Jakob

Philip Jakob is an international development economist with practical experience leading teams in the implementation of innovative projects for both the private and public sectors. He is the former International Program Director at the Justice Education Society of British Columbia, where he oversaw six projects in seven countries. Philip has also worked as an evaluator on several projects in Canada and internationally, as well as Program Director for MDA’s ICT Development Group and local Program Officer for the Canadian International Development Agency. He holds a Masters of Science in Development Economics from the University of San Francisco, a Graduate Diploma in International Management from Capilano University and a Bachelor Degree in Human Kinetics from UBC.


Philip is focussed on advancing strategies that have a measurable social impact through effective communication that engages stakeholders and improves decision-making. He has significant program management experience with a track record of success designing effective solutions that build consensus around complex issues. As a dynamic and engaged leader, Philip aims to both contribute to and learn from the communities he works with.
