Rural women's leadership in localized climate solutions: Canada, Haiti, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka

In partnership with Hope International Development Agency, BCCIC and VIDEA, this event will showcase women’s agency and leadership in localized solutions to climate change, environmental and disaster risk reduction in Canada, Haiti, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Nominated for their leadership in local communities, the speakers will use the panel format of this event to discuss the importance of leveraging interlinkages between gender equality, rural economic justice and climate change from a decolonial, localized perspective. They will also reflect on the practical realities and intersectional gendered barriers that they face, and their strategies of resistance to bring about transformative change in their communities.
