Sustainable
Development Goals

Overview

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the global blueprint for achieving a better and more sustainable future for all. They are a call to action for all countries to promote prosperity and to protect the planet. They address the global challenges we face collectively, including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice. The 17 Goals are all interconnected with interlinkages in between. In order to leave no one behind in the achievement of these goals, it is important that we all put considerable effort into addressing these challenges with all stakeholders in mind.

BCCIC is committed to working towards and within the framework of the SDGs, and our membership represents various organizations, affiliates and individuals who work in areas related to one or more of these goals. Our research, programming and public engagement endeavours are framed within these local-global challenges and solutions that all people communities around the world face.
