Job Opening: Web Designer (Contract)

As a network of over 100 members, the BC Council for International Cooperation seeks to provide opportunities for British Columbians to engage with global issues. With 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to tackle locally and globally by 2030, there is much to be done. And we need your help!

Description & Context: 

BCCIC’s external communications strategy reflects the organization’s core theory of change. BCCIC defines its ultimate goal of ‘change’ as an increase in critical thinking on topics of social thought and identity as they relate to global issues, such as the SDGs.

In order to create the right conditions for increased critical thinking about the SDGs, BCCIC is constantly working to grow its audience, to disseminate pertinent local and global social justice information, and to maintain its status as a thought leader in British Columbia’s international cooperation sector. This year BCCIC has been working to update its visual identity to improve all of its public-facing work. 

The key tasks of the web designer will be to update the visual identity of the website based on the existing changes to BCCIC’s branding and improve the organization of the website to optimize the flow of information for the site’s visitors.

What makes you a good fit:

  • Experience and proven skill in website design and development;
  • Experience with WordPress;
  • Strong graphic design skills to complement and further BCCIC’s new visual identity;
  • Familiarity with the international cooperation sector is an asset;
  • Ability to innovate and improve website flow to improve user experience;
  • Character requirements include: timeliness, commitment, reliability, resourcefulness, creativity; flexibility; critical thinking, and being able to communicate effectively.


This contract will begin the week of July 20th. Timelines for the project are subject to negotiation upon hire, but would not be longer than three weeks, maximum.
