Youth Catalyzers
A Journey in Solidarity, Imagination & Action
Youth Catalyzers is a six-month exploratory journey that connects a small group of youth in BC and the Global South to become catalysts for change in our coalition and the broader international cooperation sector — bridging local and global priorities, shaping narratives, and sparking collective action that challenges injustice globally.
Together, the Youth Catalyzers Will:
- Build meaningful relationships: form supportive, collaborative connections across borders, grounded in solidarity, care, and accountability.
- Forge new paths towards collective liberation: explore alternative approaches to global citizenship and “Development” rooted in justice
- Influence systems: deepen critical analysis of Canada’s role in global systems and shape how groups address global injustice through intergenerational storytelling, learning exchanges, dialogues, and networking
- Take action collectively: co-design public engagement activities in BC that connect local and global struggles and catalyze new ways of working in solidarity.
- Learn by doing: gain and share skills in organizing, movement-building, public engagement, and international solidarity
This is Achieved Through:
Monthly virtual storytelling gatherings that anchor this journey; connecting youth across borders, groups, movements, and lived experiences.
Taking part in BCCIC’s Climate Justice campaigning, Alternatives to Development Gathering, International Development Week series and more.
Participating in other BCCIC initiatives like members’ meetings, skill-building sessions, foreign policy dialogues, and co-creating other public engagement spaces.
