Attending a BCCIC event and have questions on why we ask the questions that we do during registration & in the post-event survey? Here’s why BCCIC collects identity data and for what purpose

You have the right to know how your information is being used. BCCIC uses demographic and identity data for:

• Program learning: gender-based and intersectional analysis; identifying any patterns of inequity and who is not being well-served in our programs and processes
• Helping BCCIC to recognize and remove barriers, and to design new measures to achieve greater equity, diversity and inclusion in our programming
• Reporting to funders (anonymized and aggregated)

BCCIC respects your trust and protects your privacy. We take precautions to secure personal information in our systems due to the nature of the sensitivity of the information collected. Your personal information will not be shared with third parties without your explicit consent. Your responses are confidential. Only authorized personnel from BCCIC have access to raw data and responses that can be linked to individuals. Proper measures will be taken to protect confidentiality. All data will be treated to ensure the protection of personal information against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification, by having: a secure filing system, password protected documents, erasure of data on Zoom after 30 days, and anonymized and aggregated data. Your written comments may be used for reporting purposes.
